2014 Deep-C Student Research Symposium Registration
The inaugural Deep-C Student Research Symposium takes place on September 18-19, 2014 in Tallahassee, FL. The Symposium focus is on GoMRI-funded research conducted by graduate and undergraduate students, and the intent is to provide students with a professional meeting experience in which they give talks or present posters* and get feedback from peers as well as comments from senior scientists.
*Graduate students are asked to give short (15-minute) oral presentations, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A) and undergraduates are asked to present a poster on their Deep-C research. Oral presentation spots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. So register ASAP!
In addition to the student research presentations, we have invited several speakers to cover professional development topics ranging from ethics in the conduct of research and the preparation of grant proposals, to examining social concerns in the workplace. A detailed agenda and logistical information will follow soon. But please register ASAP so we can get an accurate headcount.
While this symposium is geared toward students, everyone in the Deep-C community is strongly encouraged to attend to help make this a lively experience for all involved. Registration is $50. Registration costs for Deep-C students will be covered by Deep-C's Education and Outreach Committee.
