Data center personnel are available to assist Deep-C scientists with the submission of their data files and an associated metadata to the center. Where possible, we will provide web- based forms to standardize data submissions and we will work with other data centers and consortia to apply national and international data and metadata standards. The center will consult with Deep-C scientists (and those from other consortia) regarding file format and file submission protocols.

The data center will provide public access to all activity (e.g., cruise, model, shore collection) metadata as soon as it is delivered by the scientist to the center. Access to observational data and analyses will be provided through a controlled web access system (see data release policy). Once data are public, they will be served via other traditional methods (FTP, THREDDS, etc.).

The data center will submit metadata related to each observational and analysis data set to the GRIIDC. Data sets will be registered with GRIIDC, and will obtain a digital object identifier (DOI), once they are available via the Deep-C web access system.

Once observational or analysis data sets reach public access status, the data center will ensure a copy is delivered to either the responsible national data center or to GRIIDC.
