Data Submission
How To: Submit a Deep-C Dataset [YouTube]
Deep-C scientists that are either collecting original field samples, analyzing these observations, or creating data/model products are required to submit their data files to the Deep-C data center. Details on the types of data files we will accept please see our data policy.
The Deep-C data center is organizing data and products around a series of activities which include the following:
- Cruise
- Mooring
- Drifter/Float
- Shore Expedition
- Aircraft
- Satellite
- Laboratory
- Model
Within each activity there can be one or more components that we consider events. For example, cruise events include CTDs, sediment grabs, coring, long-line sets, etc. Each event can include one or more sampling actions that typically result in data files, photographs, etc. that will be submitted to the data center.
Information requested to be submitted to the data center includes activity, event, and sample level metadata and the data, image, or document files (and their related file metadata) that result from each activity.
Deep-C was a four-year, interdisciplinary study of deep sea to coast connectivity in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.Deep-C is no longer an active research project. The information on this website is for historical reference purposes only.
